Andy ,

I just started playing guitar 6 months ago, I saw your video and the inspiration to get better was pedal to the metal. Your great! I’m sure you’ve heard it a million times already, but this is coming from a beginner that loves music. Thanks for putting your video online I show it to everyone I know!

Andy, wonderful. I saw this on You Tube and fell in love with the song. I wish I could sit down with a musician like yourself and learn. For now, I’m going to sit my rear down and start practicing. Even after 10 years of playing, I’m still nowhere near that good. Awesome.

those notes are all hammer-ons or just fingerpicked if they’re open notes. those ghost notes i don’t even worry about at all, they normally just happen on their own. hope this helps, cheers.

vince, the correct tuning for the song is DADGAD…i learned the song a few weeks back and sounds verbatim with DADGAD tuning.

for those asking about what strings he uses, he uses nothing but Dean Markley’s Alchemy strings, he seems to swear by them =p

also for those asking about how certain parts are done, just watch the actual Andy McKee Drifting video on youtube in fullscreen and take notice to how his hands perform portions of the song…between that and listening to the parts i was trying to learn, it made it much simpler than just looking at a tab to learn it. cheers =)

Hey can anyone help me out? When I hammer on with my strumming hand, I always seem to get a double note. It’s weird, no matter how hard I do it, I’ll always get the note on the fret, but then some other weird one. Is it my action, or something else? I have no clue. Thanks guys.

Comment by Lynx
2008-02-09 14:31:32

hey Joe, those cursed double notes normally become more prominent with the lower-grade of your acoustic. Andy obviously has a custom hand-made masterpiece of an acoustic and his are barely audible only when he strikes it just right, but while i’m playing it on my my 300 dollar Dean i can hear it a bit more, normally on about half of the hammer-ons with my strum hand. i’ve played the same song on $70 acoustics and it’s been terrible for every hammer-on note of the same sort. but then again, the quality of strings plays a factor in it, as well. try upgrading your strings to the same ones Andy himself uses and try it again, i’m sure you’ll find an improvement. cheers!

[...] Free 50 cent back tattoo pictures and images qxqer1z Selecting and acquiring the ideal fishing boat is a real art for someone who has already gone through many experiences as far as boating is concerned. However, it can be a daunting task to those who have not yet experienced buying a fishing boat.To make the activity easier for the first timers, here is a list of tips that they can use when choosing an ideal fishing boat.1. It is important to consider the purpose of the fishing boat.Buying a fishing boat has only one purpose: to be used in fishing. However, before choosing the perfect fishing boat, it is important to consider also the other purposes.First, the place where the fishing boat will be used should be taken into account. Will it be in the ocean or in other bodies of water like lakes?Second, the time of the day it will be used. Will it be for day trips or for overnight fishing activities? If the fishing boat will be used for ocean cruising and overnight stays, it would be better to buy a fishing boat that has a hull. This is specifically designed for rough waters. This design is meant to ride with the waves, hence, providing more comfort to anglers while on board.2. The budgetWhen buying a fishing boat, it is important to know if the buyer can afford to acquire a boat. Fishing boats, or any boat for that matter, can be very expensive. Hence, the buyer should know how far his budget would go as far as fishing boat prices are concerned.3. The warrantiesIt is extremely important to know if the fishing boat has a warranty. It should be analyzed and meticulously scrutinized because not all warranties are created equal.Hence, it is best to buy a fishing boat from dealers that will provide the necessary services in case their product is found to be defective.4. The certificationWhen buying a fishing boat, it is important to take note if it is certified by the “National Marine Manufacturers Association” or the NMMA. This agency guarantees that the certification they give to every boat manufacturer is a guarantee that the fishing boat had passed the agency’s standard of excellence. The bottom line is that, people should do more than just look around when choosing the ideal fishing boat. They should learn how to look for the important details in order to ensure that the boat they have acquired is definitely worth their money.FishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishingFishing Posted by raicha at 11:54 [...]
